How is a long distance moving price calculated?
By the weight of your shipment, the mileage between the two addresses, and the services you add. Once the survey is done the number is fixed in a binding estimate.
Can the price change on moving day?
On an interstate move it depends on the estimate you sign. A binding estimate is the price you pay, unless you add items or services after it was written. On a non-binding estimate the mover cannot require you to pay more than 110% of the estimate at delivery; any balance is billed afterwards. Either way, the estimate is in writing.
How long does delivery take to the East Coast?
It depends on the distance, the size of the shipment and the season. The agreed delivery date, or the window between the first and last possible delivery dates, is written on your bill of lading before the truck leaves.
What if my new home is not ready?
We at West Coast East Coast Express offer top-notch storage units to all our customers. Our storage services are among the best ones you will find in the country.
What is my furniture insured for?
Interstate movers must offer two levels of liability. Full Value Protection is the default: the mover repairs, replaces or pays the current value of a lost or damaged item. Released Value Protection costs nothing extra but pays only 60 cents per pound per item, and you must choose it in writing. The level you choose is recorded on your bill of lading.
